The Field Term
Eight Thursday sessions across a term, four hours each. Field-based learning where kids observe, investigate, measure and collect data across botany, ecology, soils, freshwater and native seed work. Building a new skill each week, and it all coming together in their Field Record book.
Thursdays 11am–3pm · eight places · one term
Ages 5 and up · a grown-up stays
Family Field Day
A two-hour Thursday morning outside together to explore through movement, looking closely and hands-on discovery. Casual, and come the weeks that suit you.
Thursdays 8:30–10:30am · book any week that suits
Co-ops, organisations and schools
Workshops and groups
A day of field science brought to your group. Co-op days and workshops are open for booking now, school incursions from 2027.
Your site or a reserve · quoted per group
How we work
Leave no trace principles, only collecting from what’s fallen and from the ground — you will be surprised what you can learn.
Sessions are inquiry based, and a space for adventure in play and curiosity of the natural world and our ecosystem.
Who runs it
Justine White
I’m a working native seed collector, teaching kids what I do.
Ten years in youth work and community services, then seven in conservation and ecology — the last five specialising in seed collection. TerraWander is those two working lives together.
Kids don’t need us to have all the answers. They need adults who are willing to wonder alongside them.
